Installation of irrigation canal flumes has been completed in Madyaniat village
Work to install 744 metres of irrigation canal flumes has been completed in Madyaniat village, Joosh Ayil Aimak, Kara-Suu District, Osh Region. Local leaders, villagers and guests attended the opening ceremony.

Thanks to the completed works, the area of land with access to irrigation water has increased from 36 to 48 hectares. An additional 12 hectares of agricultural land can now be supplied with irrigation water.

This initiative aims to promote the efficient use of water resources, support climate change adaptation and strengthen the resilience of local communities. Particular attention is also given to strengthening the role of women in climate initiatives.

The works were implemented the UNDP project “Women of the Ferghana Valley at the Forefront of Climate Change Adaptation and Peacebuilding.”

Water is the source of life and prosperity! Expanding irrigation opportunities creates favourable conditions for agricultural development and improved well-being for local residents.
