The area of irrigated land has expanded in Madaniyat village!
A 744-meter concrete irrigation flume has been installed along a canal in Madaniyat village, Joosh rural area, Kara-Suu district, Osh region.
As a result, an additional 12 hectares of land can now be developed for irrigation. Previously, 36 hectares were irrigated; the new infrastructure makes it possible to supply water to a total of 48 hectares of arable land.
The initiative aims to support climate change adaptation, strengthen the resilience of local communities, and enhance the role of women in climate-related initiatives.
The work is being implemented under the UN Development Programme’s project “Women of the Fergana Valley at the Forefront of Climate Change, Adaptation and Peacebuilding.”
