A breakthrough in potato seed production with an expert from the Netherlands!

On May 5 and 6, 2025, a significant event took place in the Chon-Alai district: leading expert Simon Schutter from the Netherlands visited the region to lay the foundation for future elite potato production in Kyrgyzstan. This visit is a key step in the development of the country's agricultural sector.

The visit began with a meeting with the district administration, which confirmed its full readiness to support the project's initiatives.

Practice and training:

Storage assessment: Simon Schutter conducted a detailed inspection and assessment of Super-Super Elite seeds, providing valuable recommendations for improving storage conditions.

Theoretical training: Farmers received training on planting technology and types of viruses in seed storage, actively asking questions and receiving useful information.

Demonstration planting: On May 6, the expert personally demonstrated the planting of Kolombo (Super-Super Elite) seeds on the field of farmer Aftandil Abraimov, advising participants and sharing his experience.

After the demonstration, the expert discussed his observations and recommendations for growing potatoes in the Chon-Alai region, providing farmers with a unique opportunity to receive individual advice.

This visit and the first-ever planting of Super-Super Elite seeds in Kyrgyzstan with the participation of international experts are a major step in the development of elite seed production for the entire country and Central Asia.
